Friends of the Muscatatuck River Minutes for March 6, 2002 Place: Jennings County Public Library Time: 7:00 P.M. Attendees: Ken Huff, Bill Suhre, Kim Lampert, Jo Ann Hallawell, Dan Shade, Gary Conant, Jack Countryman, Larry Allsop, and Sherida Moore Before president Dan Shade opened the meeting shortly after 7:00 PM, Jack Countryman distributed copies of Riffles and Pools. Old Business: Dan told us that the t-shirts are finished; he will have a sample for the next meeting. New Business: On March 26 HHH will have its annual meeting at Versailles. On March 13 some of our members will meet at the library to prepare a display for the HHH meeting. This Saturday, March 9, five of our members will take the Riverwatch Training, Level 1. This will bring the number of trained testers to eight. Kim Lampert and Dan had previously met to discuss our grant application for water monitoring equipment. Kim wanted to obtain a consensus on the answers. We appreciate her willingness to do this work. We decided to test the river at the Commons area quarterly. Joann Hallawell distributed handouts with four county recycling dates, 4-13-02, 4-20-02, 9-21-02, and 9-28-02. Our volunteer help would be greatly appreciated. Gary Conant arrived about 8:15 and distributed organized handouts from our January and February meetings. We value his expertise and will benefit from his alignment of our Mission Statement, brainstorming, potential partners list, subcommittee information, and an analysis of our strengths and weaknesses. . Our meeting was adjourned at 9:00 when the library closes. Next meeting April 3 @ 7:00; there will be an election of officers.
