Friends of the Muscatatuck River Society Monthly Minutes Opening: 9-5-02 Call to order by president Dan Shade at 7:03 PM. Treasurer's Report: $900.19 balance. Old Business: The Brochure is excellent- congrats to Greg, et al. After filling with a flyer being made by Jo Ann, 30 will be sent to the SWCD along with a thank you. Fall Metal Recycling Day is 9-21-02 Fall General Recycling Day is 9-28-02. 319 Grant- FMRS is tentatively asking for $117,000. This figure reflects a 5 day a week person vs. a 3 day employee. We could use documentation of past non-point water quality problems on the Muscatatuck. Dan will contact Beville and Reinholt; Jo Ann will look over TIP reports. The grant will enable us to do the following : Hire a water quality educator full time. Develop an information base. Build partnerships by networking with other interested local entities. Allow purchase of a computer, digital camera, phone service, etc. Provide PSAs and 300 hours of classroom/civic group presentations over 2 years. The application will be revised on Tuesday Water quality monitoring information was entered by Sandra Clark. Cosco will donate a table for club use. The annual meeting will be on February 6th at 7:00PM in the library. Larry is still checking on banners. Tom is still checking on storage. New Business Earth Team Volunteers- Kim is mentoring Wanda on how to collect logs from us concerning time and efforts, then forward them to the proper authorities so that we have documentation for our time and labors. This will help us in future efforts, i.e. 319 grant.
