Treasurer's Report: Local balance was $546.67 Balance now $1154.56 Pizza Hut earnings are $237 Orlo Bloomquist Memorial Canoe Race/Wayne Durbin Memory Canoe Run auction earnings of $577 came to FMRS. This donation represents 100% of their profit. Many thanks. Old Business: April 26th Debriefing- continue to split into groups. Six bridges were cleaned vs. the one of last year. Include the Cummins people in June. Newsletter- Tabled until we bring a director on board 319- WE ARE APPROVED!!! WE GOT THE GRANT!!! Greg suggested we needed to form a Hiring/Job Description committee and fill the opening by July 1st. The Hiring/Job Description committee consists of Susannah, Sherida, Greg, JoAnn, Dan, and Tom. Many sincere thanks to Greg Martin, Sherida Moore, Andy Ertel, Kim Lampert, and Jenny Vogel. FMRS and Mother Nature are much obliged. Andy- we will be purchasing a restaurant gift certificate and babysitting for a night out. Water Quality Training presented by Amy Carpenter of the Jefferson County SWCD: Level 1 Training- 8-9-03 from 9:00AM to 4:00PM in Room 1 JC Library Level 2 Training- 9-13-03 from 9:00AM to 4:00PM in Room 1 JC Library New Business: June 24th Clean Up- divide into groups in order to cover as much area as possible. Susannah's group will cover from the Hwy. 50 bridge to the end of her neighborhood. Joann Moore will organize the Tobias Ford Bridge area. If you have an area you would like to organize, then please reply by e-mail and it will be put into the plan. The other groups will be organized to cover the Vernon to Sullivan's Ford area and then expand from there as able. The plan will anticipate sixty volunteers arriving at Vernon. This does not include the bridge groups of Hwy. 50 and Tobias Ford. At the next meeting we will handle food, supplies, etc. If you have ideas, then please reply by e-mail and your ideas will get on the next agenda. Ace Mini Storage- the shed is locked and being used. Thank you, Russell Paswater. Membership- this is covered in the by-laws. Some amendments to the present code are probably in order. JoAnn is investigating. Polluters- Contact Ken; he will talk to Gary Smith this week. We have several options available including the sheriff's office, prosecutor's office, civil suits, and education. Dan will seek information from a group that is active in this endeavor. Judge Greathouse is willing to address the group on the subject as well. The Sailboat- appraisals are being sought as are matching funds from the Foundation. It will take time and coordination. Hopefully it will follow the course of the 319 Grant and be worth the wait as Lilly may well double the donation. Gary Conant is retiring at the end of this month, AFTER he helps our Hiring committee! We wish him happiness and rest, after he assists the committee!
