Friends of the Muscatatuck River Society Monthly Minutes Opening: 6-3-03 Call to order by vice-president Ken Huff at 7:03PM. Attendance: Ken Huff Tom and Sherida Moore Susannah Hole Larry Allsop Greg Martin Apologies for not sending a pre-meeting agenda by e-mail. Minutes: From last meeting reviewed and accepted. Treasurer's Report: Local balance is $1159.51 Greg delivered Pizza Hut earnings of $237 to bring the balance to $1396.51. Old Business: 319-Greg suggested we needed to form a Hiring/Job Description committee and fill the opening at the last meeting. That has been accomplished and we are awaiting word from our state coordinator to move ahead. Water Quality testing Open House with a demonstration will be on June 14th at 9:00AM with Ken Huff and Sandra Clark running the show. Water Quality Training presented by Amy Carpenter of the Jefferson County SWCD: Level 1 Training- 8-9-03 from 9:00AM to 4:00PM in Room 1 JC Library Level 2 Training- 9-13-03 from 9:00AM to 4:00PM in Room 1 JC Library UPDATE: Polluters- the old plan was to call Ken. Here is the updated plan. Use the TIP LINE. Call 1-800-847-4367 (1-800-TIP-IDNR); that will start the process in motion to solve the problem. In Scott County call the state police phone number and ask for Jerry Goodin, or the prosecutor's office and ask for Greg Inman. You may also call the illegal dumping number 1-877-985-6556. New Business: June 14th Clean Up- divide into groups in order to cover as much area as possible. Susannah's group will cover from the Hwy. 50 bridge to the end of her neighborhood. Joann Moore will organize the Tobias Ford Bridge area. The other groups will be organized to cover the Vernon to Sullivan's Ford area and then expand from there as able. The plan will anticipate fifty to sixty volunteers arriving at Vernon. This does not include the bridge groups of Hwy.50 and Tobias Ford. Action Register- Food and drink- Dan arrangements, Sherida to pick up Inventory- Tom Gloves- Tom Dry bags distribution- Get from Ken at Vernon at the Commons Registration- JoAnn/Sherida/Sandra Trash Removal- Larry will contact the county and have a manned pick up.
