Friends of the Muscatatuck River Society Monthly Minutes NEXT RIVER SWEEP WILL BE OCTOBER 2 In case you do not read all of this report, this is placed ahead of the rest: Three memorials to Dan Shade were proposed and well received. 1 Plant a shade tree in the county park 2 Place a bench under the hemlocks in the Calli Preserve to overlook the Muscatatuck 3 Place a plaque at Sullivan's Ford, where Dan always kept the area clean. These would have to meet with the approval of the places involved. We were in favor of all three. We would have to solicit donations to fund these three projects. If Dan were putting on the Shady Sweep, then there would be a hog roasted. We are not able to get that together, but if someone wanted to, then we would no doubt approve.
