Treasurer's Report: $2,386 balance pre shirt payment Old Business: FMRS sign for the Park office- Greg is getting a bid from Imagination Graphics- no word Follow up grant decision- It is turned in and under review T-shirts- the new shirts look great. We want to get them out to the people that worked this sweep and previous clean ups. They are dated and they need to be in the public eye. Tabled. Kevin is working on a phone tree. Tabled. Trash and Recycling can program- Kevin is going to check out the feasibility of FMRS offering tri-sectioned recycling bins to places like the county park, Crosley's, and McDonald's in an effort to aid recycling, keep the river cleaner, and publicize the group. Hopefully the grant would pay for the receptacles. It was approved unanimously to spend up to $50 on Gofers- trash pinching pick up wands. Joann Moore turned in the invoice for them. Three memorials to Dan Shade were proposed and well received. 1 Plant a shade tree in the county park. A catalpa tree has been ordered which we will pay for. 2 Place a bench under the hemlocks in the Calli Preserve to overlook the Muscatatuck Ken will inquired and the benches will need to match other benches at the preserve. 3 Place a plaque at Sullivan's Ford, where Dan always kept clean. (Jo Ann will check this out) Jo Ann is on vacation Proposed new amendment: A majority of voting members present may elect an officer to fill a vacated post. Second reading. NEW BUSINESS New attendees were recognized and asked to share. Prosecution- A piece of evidence was found in Scott county and our prosecutor, Gary Smith, will forward information to their enforcement agencies. We will wait to see what results before taking any other steps. FFA- John Huff and crew won the Jasper/Pulaski regional competition and he is the sole returner able to go on to the nationals this year. He needed to borrow our water quality evaluating Green Kits and we agreed. Employee possibility- The group met potential employee Leanne Whitesell and reviewed her resumé as well as getting to talk to her. Miss Whitesell and FMRS appear to be a great fit and a major positive for each. After she left, the group unanimously approved her employment. She starts immediately. She will work part time and her work will focus almost exclusively on and in the classroom. Fall Sweep Review- What a success!! The sweep was impressive and the evening was resounding. Simeon deserves unreserved kudos. We praise partner Elizabeth Trybula for her efforts and support. It was simply a great event for Mother Nature. In the end we collected 10,418 pounds of refuse, 47 tires, and made $1,025 dollars on the Dan Shade benefit. That's a good day. Identification and removal of hazardous materials- Ken and Kevin will develop guidelines for getting or letting. Simeon will talk to Steve Cardinal concerning training in recognition of meth lab contents. Documentation of Clean ups- We may need to streamline some of the instruments used and then make sure that they are used at each and every site. Site manager- be clear on who it is. Prosecution warning signs- we have no authority Gloves- we will purchase jersey gloves in addition to the others for the next sweep. Maps- Kevin will be supplied with what he needs.
