Mules need equipped with long shovels and pry bars. - Food: Need better preparation to get food picked up and delivered. With the increasing size of our cleanups, we are putting a large burden from food venders. Christinia suggested a "pitch-in" at one cleanup/year. We will discuss again closer to next cleanup time. - Groups need to help truck drivers load trash into their trucks and not leave sites too early. - Need to educate workers to not overload trash bags Troy's comments: - Best-organized cleanup to-date; sound system was a plus for communicating to the crowd. - Registration was smoothest to-date as stated also by Sherida - Power equipment (mules, etc.) a crucial tool for certain cleanup sites (i.e. race track). Central Muscatatuck Watershed Project update: - Kevin was nominated as Chairperson for the Steering Committee, utilizing his skills attributed to the Watershed Management Leadership Academy training. (Side note: Rob Miller will be attending this class during the 2008 term). - Troy and Kevin cited Rob's hard work and exceptional organizational skill thus far on the project. - Rob commented that he is working diligently to involve the local agricultural groups, and would like to see representatives from Scott and Ripley counties more involved; one of his biggest challenges is to keep people contributing to the cause. He is currently interviewing two professional water-testing firms and narrowing the choices of potential testing sites.
