Muscatatuck River Music Festival - Hugh Partridge is looking for a 501C3 organization to handle parking. Our group declined by popular vote due to short notice, but we will suggest to other groups. - The group voted on and approved using a silent auction to distribute the gifts. - Troy will distribute a time-tabled signup list for volunteers to work the FMRS booth. Please respond to it ASAP. - Les has plastic recycling bags to issue/use at the festival. Bass Pro Shop Grant Application Kelly Jayne will complete and submit the application. Troy will research into getting a FMRS letterhead to her, which is needed to submit the grant. Orlo Bloomquist Memorial Race / Rendezvous Kevin Durbin and Bryan Johnson were the overall winners. Thanks to all who attended and participated. Work force was a little sparse; Next race will need more volunteers for time keepers, bridge watchers, sweeper boats, registration and auction workers. New Business: Review Spring Sweep Statistics: 183 volunteers adding up to 732 volunteer hours, 10,800 pounds of trash, 136 tires. The cleanup was a great success overall; Mother Nature forever in the debt to everyone who participated!!! Items that need improvement: - Food issue control. Problem: younger volunteers are dipping too heavily into the already limited food supply. Solutions: Troy suggested using a "meal ticket" issued to each volunteer at registration, along with a dedicated person to mizer the food. Robert also suggested making pre-made sack lunches. - We need more food side dishes to fill people up without relying on main dishes (chips, etc.) - T-Shirt shortage caused some ill feelings among some volunteers. Either we need to distribute more shirts or look for another significant gift to balance out this concern. Rob suggested applying for a Community Foundation grant to offset the cost for shirts. Summer Project: - Central Muscatatuck Watershed Project: Need water testing volunteers, sub-committee members, etc. - Canoe Race: Look into FMRS taking over responsibilities including financial, logistical and legal. - Bass Pro Shop grant: Kelly will fill out form, but needs 501C3 and organization info from others - By-laws: review and modify if possible (Tom) - Cleanup equipment upgrade/inventory (Les) - Assign a civic group or individual to replace Kevin in cleanup food responsibilities - Need to make up copies/card for tax-exempt form and compile an "approved-vendor" list (Sherida/Christinia) - "Adopt-a-ditch" programs (Troy) - Muscatatuck River Music Festival: planning in advance to resolve raffle certification, organizing, etc. - Les has 2 music festivals that he needs help with this year (contact for details: * August 8-10: Green Stock * September 10-12: Funk Fest Correspondence: Central Muscatatuck Watershed Project Coordinator update: - May 3rd: Hardy Cleanup was a great success!
