Friends of the Muscatatuck River Society Spring Sweep Planning Session Date: Tuesday, August 5, 2008 Place: Jennings County Public Library Start Time: 5:30 PM End Time: 6:40 PM Desired Outcomes: Assign tasks for bringing together fall sweep. Get an update on Treasurers Report. Follow up on Old Business. Review results of Summer Projects. Please Bring: A pen and paper to take notes and a copy of the agenda. Agenda Items: Time Allocated: 1) Call Meeting to Order 2) Approval of Minutes 2 minutes 3) Treasurer’s Report 5 minutes -Wal-mart grant check at HHH Centra checking $885.02 Savings account $26.18 Indiana Bank account $2,081.40, paid water and PDS now $2,040.88 HHH account- at least $1000 4) Old Business A) Ice Creek Dump Site – Follow Up 5 minutes B) Muscatatuck River Music Festival 5 minutes -over this winter, we need to decide whether to continue participation. -Board requests no less than 10 volunteers, they must commit by March. -Subcommittee will be formed for managing events like this. C) Summer Projects 10 minutes -CMWP-Hoosier Riverwatch Workshop on August 23 at Muscatatuck Wildlife Refuge. Ready to turn the next phase of the grant. Getting the education and implementation part ready. Going to list partners on implementation, in kind matching-FMRS would be in the form of advertising and education. Officers signed letter of agreement for in-kind matching purposes. -Canoe Race-tabled, no action was taken -Bass Pro Shop Grant- lost the hook, will use HHH letter head next time. -Bylaws-still need to be reviewed -Clean-up equipment, Les will get it when the shed is cooler -Civic group to replace Kevin for food acquisition, Kevin still chief -Need to make copies/card of tax exempt form and compile “approved vendor list,” action needed… -“adopt a ditch” program, Troy has implemented the neighborhood program and is looking to expand D) Bass Pro Shop Grant Application 2 minutes -We need a letter head before we can apply. We can use HHH letterhead.
